Today’s devotional is teaching us the proper way to pray. We are told to ask everything by prayer and supplication(asking or begging) with thanksgiving, let your request be known to God. As Christians we often get in the habit of rituals and traditions and let that become the way we talk to God. We should refrain from getting lost in habit and just talk to God about what is fresh on our mind, and in our heart. He does know every need before it arises but he loves for us to talk to Him. That personal outreach to Him is endearing and special. He loves when we just talk to Him, not chant a few lines from memory. This is all part of a personal relationship with the Creator of our world. Face time literally, every day with the greatest power on earth. Telling Him what is in your heart, in your mind, your desires voiced personally. How often do we mean every word when we say the Lord’s prayer? It’s instinctual, I would say the pledge of allegiance as that used to be part of our every day life, sadly we are more concerned with hurting someone’s feelings than offering our heart felt allegiance to a country that gives us these freedoms. It is our human nature to lean toward habits, so let it be your habit to give God your personal and undivided attention, then just talk to Him about what is on your heart. Let us also remember to be thankful for all that He has already done and already set into motion. We should spend time in thanks as we are not entitled to any of the great gifts that He continues to give us. We are so very blessed that we honestly don’t even think about all that we have to be thankful for. Spending time in subjugation to our Father God would do a bit of good for all of us. We are truly blessed beyond measure. Thanks so much for sharing part of your day with me please enjoy this devotional from His Victorious Indwelling:
