Today’s devotional is teaching us about the benefits of weakness, or time away from the busy life of today. Most of us have at one time or another, been stuck at home sick, or temporarily disabled from our daily life. It is in that time that our body rest and heals. It is such a temporary time that we don’t see how different life can be, as the moment we can get up and about, we are off and running. However there is much to be learned from time away. Normally we go to work then come home to do what chores need to be finished, then we melt into our beds. We often look forward to this time when we can lay our body down to rest. In those hours when we sleep, our body rejuvenates and prepares us for the next day. If you are a person who is dealing with ongoing health problems, there absolutely is a reason for every minute you are given away from what others might consider a normal life . Away from this craziness that is our world. It could be God is keeping you from being somewhere in a situiation you might be hurt physically, it could be something you would hear that day at work would lead you down a bad road and He is saving you from it. It could be that in being at home, God can use you to represent Him to all the lives you come in contact with online in some way. It could be the work you are doing is going to really help someone, or be a changing point in a life. We never know what the reason is, but we do know that God absolutely has our best possible future in store for us. We can always count on Him and know it is going to be the best you, due to the circumstances you deal with every day. It will all make sense one day. How many times have you watched a movie and all the unusual things you saw throughout finally make perfect sense at the end when we see what they were used for. Have you ever seen the movie Signs, with Mel Gibson? I think of this movie so often, because it opened my eyes in a huge way, I saw how all of these little odd things that people in this family did every day, and how they made such a huge difference in the things that happened. God used those actors to tell us a valuable lesson. He is trying to reach us and show us how important we are to Him. The problem is so few of us take the time to actually speak to Him daily and seek His advice. Are you listening to what God is trying to tell you? What will it take for you to finally take time out of your day and give Him your attention?
