Today’s devotional is talking to us about our constant renewal of strength, and the daily peace our bodies need. Just as our bodies require food and water to power them, our spiritual soul needs to be fed as well. Without it, our strength leaves, and then our desire for peace. We actively choose not to wither away, and so we have to search for what gives us this strength. The Holy Spirit provides our strength and desire for a relationship with our Creator. Everything that we need to be able to communicate with the Father is given to us by the Holy Spirit, almost like giving sound to your voice, so that others can hear you. Similar to translating a foreign language so that you can understand. This much needed bridge over the massive gap between where we are, and where our Lord resides. Every day we receive what our body requires to grow and connect, due to this renewal from the Holy Spirit. Just as our body can’t continue without sustenance, our soul can’t connect without the Holy Spirit. Without a relationship with God, our whole existence is so shallow compared to what it can be. Can you imagine living in a country where you do not understand the language, then finding a person who speaks your language and can explain what is really happening around you. Here are the basic rules to live by, here is where you get food, here is where you sleep, then they disappear. You know only how to survive, but not how to thrive. That very difference that gives us all our reason for living. When God created us, and blessed us above every other creation, with a soul, He wanted to have us to commune with. He desired a relationship with us, so He has given us what we need in order to do that. We have also been given the ability to choose, so we must choose to want this relationship and actively do our part to attain it. So you must reach for the Holy Spirit, and you will begin to understand things that you could never understand before. It is suddenly translated into your language now. You see clearly what is going on around you, and what you might have completely overlooked before. Your mind suddenly is awake, and aware of what God is doing all around you, in so many different lives and ways. This amazing gift is certainly of value and something you want to hold on to, or you would just go back to existing. After truly living, no one can settle for just existence. This is God’s gift to us with the Holy Spirit. How blessed are we that we have a Father who so amply provides for all our needs.
