Today’s devotional is teaching us that when we think we have reached a point, where there is no way to win for God, we lay down our lives to Him, then from the loss of our hope, in the ground buried, comes a new sprout of hope that can be there for the next generation. From the death of the old, fertilization comes for a new and even better version, that can work for the Lord, and be what He needs for that next generation. We have all endured times when we felt like our usefulness to God or our loved ones, has come to an end. The thing to keep up front in our mind and heart is that the death of one, might spurr another to action. So even when we feel our usefulness is finished, God might have a different plan. His is the power behind the creation of our world, and His decree for the future is not something we can deny. We never know what small part of a sentence we shared, that might stay with another and perhaps change their mind and heart for all time. Often it is hard for people to hear, what they might take for granted, will not always be there. Our tomorrow’s are not promised on this earth, but because of our relationship with God, we have endless tomorrow’s in Heaven. The bible often speaks about honoring your loved ones and showing respect, as time moves forwars it feels as if there is less of that. Many parents sadly don’t all cherish their children. It took me a long time to get close enough in my relationship with God that I could put Him before my children. Because I didn’t have a relationship with my mother, I wanted nothing more than to show my children they came first. I am so thankful God didn’t show His power and take them. I had to really grow in my maturity as a Christian before I saw that God had to come first. Then, He takes care of everything else. We all can look back at mistakes in our past and be so thankful that God forgave us for them, and loved us enough to take our punishment for them. I am so very thankful for the many blessings I have been given by our Father. My children had come from marriage, before I met the partner God had for my life, but he certainly made it all come together to be the Christian example of God’s love that I want my family to be today and for all time. My desire for an unconditional love like Christ gives us, was always my greatest desire. I tried to find and make that on my own, I can see now, that can only come with and from a relationship with God. My impatience cost the ones I love the most, and made it more difficult for them. As a parent I find it is next to impossible to truly show your children how much you really love them, no matter what you are able to do for them physically. They will not know your true love, until you are gone. Having lost my last parent this year, has shown me so much. All parents make mistakes and not all children can find it in their hearts to forgive them. We can’t go back and change the past However, we can only turn to God, and live the rest of our days for the Lord, and pray that our children will see true love in action. Pray they achieve a relationship with God and their eyes can be opened to the love around them. Only through a relationship with God will anyone ever achieve the true love they desire. With that love and sacrifice the world can be a better place.
