Today’s devotional is teaching us about Grace. We are given Grace as a gift from our Father, because Christ suffered already the punishment of our sins. Everything we could ever do is not capable of being something that isn’t forgiven when we go to God with a true heart and wish for redemption. Meaning we will turn from our ways and strive to live a life that shows Christ and our love for our God. There are times when we have trouble letting go of our sin once we have confessed it, but that is Satan trying to keep us from feeling forgiven so that we can form a relationship with God. A real relationship where you talk and listen, you learn from your mistakes and seek His direction for our life. There is no way that this can’t have an impact on your life, your outlook, your goals for your future. We can’t attach rules or traditions on how we get forgiveness or there grows doubt. It would prevent you from feeling completely wiped clean of all wrongs in your past and future. That sense of being freed from the bonds, the repercussions, of our sin. God absolutely removes the sin from our life and we have to then stay involved and enclosed in this relationship so that we arent suffering from the mistakes of our past. We wouldn’t want to fall back in that whole of guilt when we are now free because Christ chose to take that punishment for us. What a gift that was to every man, woman, and child ever born. What Christ gave us was not with strings attached, there is no toll to pay, we just must be honest in our quest for redemption and except that that old sinful version of you is dead. Now you are a newborn without sin and born into a commitment to draw you closer to God, so you may have the best life possible. Truly I can’t imagine a greater gift than what Christ has given us all.
