Today’s devotional is teaching us about losing our sinful self and replacing it with Christ. Our works, deeds, thoughts are never pure and selfless because of our human nature. We have to replace us, with Him, so that we can do works through Him. Christ fills us and replaces all the broken, weak, or unknown parts with a stronger version that is focused and capable of good works. If you think that you might not want to be replaced, then think about when the time for judgement comes, don’t you want to be replaced with a pure sinless version that is the Father’s son? Everyone wants to be the best version of themself, the Holy Spirit gives us that opportunity. In this improved version of ourselves we find a reason to live, throughout all of our days. We have a purpose that is greater than we are, and we are a part of the greatest mission ever started. We are needed, and have a purpose. Now to most of my friends reading, they have busy lives with purpose. I however needed to hear this because there is so much I am no longer able to do, or be a part of, so at times I have wondered why the Lord doesn’t just take me home, as I am a burden to my loved ones. In that I don’t feel as if I do anything worth the pain and effort of getting through another day. Then I get reminded through this wonderful devotional that I am a part of His plan, and I do have a purpose as long as I wake up every day. God is using me to reach someone, to say something, or learn something that will help His mission. I know that the Holy Spirit’s mission is to make me the best version possible, by replacing my self with the only perfect human to walk this earth. So in letting Him take charge, I grow stronger and more useful every day, because I exchange me for Him.
Thanks for sharing part of your day with me please enjoy this devotional from His Victorious Indwelling:
