Today’s devotional is teaching us that God is all the food that you will ever need to quinch your hunger, or thirst. He alone is everything that we need, and provides all that we will ever need. We try to create food that is good to our taste buds, and nutritious for our bodies. Mankind has tampered with our food supply so much that it is nothing like what was created. The give steroids to animals to bulk them up so they will make more money per pound. The plant seeds are enhanced and altered to produce crops that are more plump and juicy. Yet these crops can’t produce seeds so they will grow another crop. So the farmer has to return to the provider each year for the seeds to grow more of the enhanced crop. God created fruits and vegetables, so that they will create their seeds for next year, and drop some on the ground that make a fertilizer to enrich the soil to produce a crop again next year. It seems odd that if you try to purchase food that is not tampered with, it cost you more. We have to pay in essence, to get less. This is just an example of how mankind has tried to alter and create their own food. God provided everything that we would ever need upon creation. The garden of Eden was the perfect world with everything that was needed, yet the one thing God put there and said they could not have, is the thing Satan tempted and taunted them with. That tree of knowledge, made them aware. They could see their sin. In the same manner today God provides all that we need to survive, yet man is trying to improve on God’s creation. We are seeing today the results of consuming all this meat with steroids and large vegetables from altered seeds. If only the world could see that all we need, God has given us. We need to get back to basics and depend on God. Be grateful and bow to His greatness and providence. Let God be what we consume instead of man’s creations. Praise Him and be thankful for all He has provided.
