Oct 14, 2017 Karla’s Blog
A huge Happy Birthday to my eldest, April Everett. She might not especially love me sharing this but 35 years ago today, God gave me one of my precious gifts. I am so thankful, and honored to be able to raise her, and enjoy knowing her as an adult. She is beautiful inside and out.
Today’s devotional is teaching us about seeing what we have, but also seeing it as a gift from God. We are to use all that we have at our disposal to share Him with the world. We are not to get so caught up in the specifics of our beliefs that they keep us from sharing it with everyone, and most of all, letting God’s love live in us. Bursting out of us as if we contain a massive powerful light and love within that tries to escape at any opportunity. Sharing God’s word is our most important job as believers. We can’t not be willing to except a person who we don’t think fits our dress code, when they may not be able to do better. What is important is giving them access to the word, so they might know God. Yes the church, is God’s house and we should respect that, and when possible dress as we would if we were going over to God’s house for a visit with Him. We should always remember that God would welcome anyone in His home, most especially those who have hit rock bottom and want to better their life. We don’t want people to think they are not good enough to come to know the Lord. God is for everyone and has a special fondness for the meek and humble.
We are warned in today’s message to not let things that are innocent gifts in our lives, become such an important matter to us that they take over our lives or keep us from giving our full attention to God and His work. This could be a hobby, habit, hang up, or even a job that God has given you. Above everything, we are always to put God first. If nothing else I have ever said sticks with you, I pray you remember this first.
Thanks for sharing part of your day with me please enjoy this devotional from His Victorious Indwelling:
