Today’s devotional is teaching us about the difference between the relationship that the rich have with God, and the one that those less fortunate have. I believe this truly, when a person can aquire their own needs they are less prone to seek God,  before obtaining them. It is hard to be humble when everything you desire is at your fingertips. The less blessed we are financially the more we will go to God for our needs. We depend on Him to show us what is most important and what we need to do to take care of our basic human needs. There is no decision of how best to spend our money, because it all goes for basic needs. We talk to God more often as we rely on Him to provide for us. We humble ourselves to the masses when we depend on them for basics like food water and clothing. We wait for God to show us how He is providing each need, instead of thinking we did it all on our own. It only make a sense that the less fortunate would have a closer relationship with God. So where does that leave us who are middle class? Hopefully we don’t take our blessings for granted. We need to be aware that ALL that we have and will ever have, is a gift from God. You didn’t earn it on your own, He put you in that job, as there are many who would be willing to take your place in a heartbeat. You are given this opportunity to make a wage. Hopefully you see God gave this to you. The ability to do the job, the intellect to accomplish your daily responsibilities. We must truly work to be humble if we have many blessings. Not to take things for granted. Not to expect anyone to owe you anything. So spending time with our Father is greatly important in our every day walk. We have to make sure we know all we have and all we will ever be, is only due to His grace upon us. God gave you the air you just breathed. You can not survive without it, or Him in your life constantly. He is the vital key to our happiness. Possessions will not make you happy. Only God can give you that and we all see where to find that.
