Today’s devotional is teaching us about the fullness that is complete in God. His grace is sufficient for us. Really stop and give that thought. We hear it often but have you ever pondered on it? I love the examples it gives in the reading, think about just how preposterous it is to think that His grace could ever be, not enough. We know truly this world did not happen to come into existence because of some bang. Everything was created by our Higher power. Designed and transitioned through time and evolution to be exactly what they are at this time. A specific purpose for every animal, every man that is breathing air today. God put you right where you are and directed your life to bring you to this point in time. All we have to do for our Heavenly Eternal resting place is to believe. Christ has done all the work for us. When we have this experience with God and Christ, we are naturally overwhelmed by the love and grace. The problem is we then go back out into this sinful world and are surrounded by evil and only through evil does it seem that people start to get ahead. It is our nature to want the best we can do for our families, but we won’t get the best by being like the others in this world. You are achieving greatness, mirroring Godly behavior.
Anyone when faced with a choice of one yr of happiness vs an eternity would want Eternity. The problem is they can’t see that now, and they can see people enjoying the greatness of worldly rewards, so they begin to let doubt creep in, and go the way of now, vs future. Truly I say into you, God’s grace is sufficient for us. We can be forgiven for actions we think might be unforgivable. He can take all that weight off our shoulders and free us. We have a new goal and the returns are out of this world amazing. The market will never crash and you truly will have joy and happiness forevermore. The price of admission already pd. What more could we want?
Thanks for sharing part of your day with me and I hope you will enjoy this devotional from His Victorious Indwelling:
And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee… 2 CORINTHIANS 12:9A, KJV The other evening I was riding home after a heavy day’s work; I felt very weary and sore depressed, when, swiftly and suddenly as a lightning flash, the text came to me: “My grace is sufficient for thee.” I said, “I should think it is, Lord,” and burst out laughing. I never fully understood what the holy laugh of Abraham was till then. It seemed to make unbelief so absurd. It was as though some little fish, being very thirsty, was troubled about drinking the river dry, and the River Thames said, “Drink away, little fish, my stream is sufficient for thee.” Or, it seemed like a little mouse in the granaries of Egypt, after the seven years of plenty, fearing it might die of famine; Joseph might say, “Cheer up, little mouse, my granaries are sufficient for thee.” Again, I imagine a man, way up yonder on a lofty mountain, saying to himself, “I breathe so many cubic feet of air every year; I fear I shall exhaust the oxygen in the atmosphere”; but the earth might say, “Breathe away, O man, and fill thy lungs evermore, my atmosphere is sufficient for thee.” Oh, brethren, be great believers! Little faith will bring your souls to heaven, but great faith will bring heaven to your souls. CHARLES SPURGEON
There is as much in our Lord’s pantry as will satisfy all his hungry children, and as much wine in His cellar as will quench all their thirst. Hunger on then, for there it is good to hunger for Christ; go never from Him, but clamor after Him who never tires of feeding hungry souls, with a dishful of hungry desires, till he fill you.
