Today’s devotional message is helping us understand that we are born nothing but human, destined for eternal failure. When we except Christ As our savior, our body changes into something that is precious to the Lord. A stone, meaning a part of He who is a massive rock. The bible tells about when Simon received Christ into his heart and he felt a quickening. Actually feeling something come into him and change him. Many don’t understand that, but truly we should feel a massive difference in our life. We are becoming a new person. All the sins of your human nature have just been forgiven, you no longer carry the weight of all that sin around with you every step. What a massive load that is that Christ paid to be removed. If we are rejected by mankind, then we can be chosen by God and Be precious to Him. We’ve all read in the bible where God was so disgusted with man, that He destroyed towns, then finally all of mankind aside the one man who was truly obeying God’s rules and living a Godly life. Imagine how horrible the world had to be for Him to destroy all that He created. I can’t imagine it is any different than the world we are all living in today. Sin runs rampant and is applauded. People are taking God out of everything and we are letting it happen. It feels like all of history is being altered to fit into what people want to remember. I can’t see how it could possibly be much longer before there is just so much evil in this world that God chooses to destroy it again, but by fire this time. He can’t help but be disgusted by our actions. Our only hope of redemption comes from our relationship with God. We should all crave to be filled with His love and forgiveness. I pray we all act in time.
Thanks for sharing part of your day with me, I hope you will enjoy this devotional from His Victorious Indwelling.
As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 PETER 2:4-5 We become living stones as soon as we come in contact with Christ, who is the Living Stone. This is the moment the blessed Lord speaks of when He says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live” (John 5:25). The voice of the Son of God went down into the heart of Simon, the son of Bar-Jona, quickening him, and I think Peter became acquainted with a change within himself, though I do not judge he quite understood what was wrapped up in the Lord’s enigmatical expression. Indeed, he was like many a person whom the gospel reaches. He knows a change has come over him, but he cannot explain it. He becomes an altered man, though he cannot tell what has taken place. I think at that moment when Simon found Jesus, he responded that there was a tie between his soul and the Saviour’s. The voice of the Son of God entered into the heart of Peter, and what he heard was this, “Thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone.” You and I are stones from the time we derive from Christ. Do you know what a Christian is? He is a little bit of Christ. The Christian derives his life, his righteousness, his grace, and his sanctification from Him. He lives in the life of Christ, before God.
