Reading today’s devotional, really opened my eyes to see things from a different perspective.  I have heard all my life how God loves us and all He has done for us in the past. Then I think of the Old testament and how God was fearce at times. He told us to do things a certain way and when the people didn’t follow His direcrion He often destroyed the town, or even the world, but for those who were obeying the word. Mankind is fallen, we are born with a sinful nature and till the moment we choose to except Christ as our savior and act Christ-like, there is absolutely no hope for us. Yes, God loves us but He does not have the patience for us stepping away from His word. We know His commandments and either we follow them, or we don’t. Whereas Christ has more of a loving forgiving heart. He was born a man, and walked this earth.  He has compassion for mankind. He wanted to give us all opportunities to reach Heaven as He knew following the Old testament ways would be more difficult in times to come. So He gave Himself as the sacrifice for our sins. Christ has glorious compassion for our sinful nature and gave us a way around it. We must but truly say we are sorry, and Christ forgives us for our sinful nature. Christ centered His attention on the church, His people. He made plans for them after His amazing sacrifice and it is because of Christ that we have an amazing future to look forward to. Christ goals are for His bride,  the church , He has taken steps to assure her future and bring her along with Him in His greatness. God created us, and has had thousands of years of watching mankind constantly fall back on our promises to Him. Yet His love for His son let’s him forgive us in His name. We are so very truly blessed with this opportunity and if we don’t choose to act on it, there is no hope for a future. So each of us has to think, plan, and pray, about what our future looks like, then make our choice. I choose to except Christ into my heart.  I choose to follow His example, and I choose to be as much like Christ as I can each day. I am so very thankful for this opportunity and will talk about this great gift till I am no longer on this earth or able to speak
I will remain so very grateful for this amazing opportunity. Please read today’s devotional from His Victorious Indwelling and feel as truly blessed as I am. Thank you so much for sharing this time with me. Have a wonderful blessed day.

Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. EPHESIANS 5:25, KJV It never says Christ loved the world; nor does it say God loved the Church. It says, “Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for it.” If we want to know what are Christ’s interests to-day—where the circle of His interests are to-day, we have the answer in this beautiful passage before us: it is the Church. The Lord thinks everything of the Church. The circle of His interests all center there in this present day. He loved it and gave Himself for it, and He is engaged in active service on high today on behalf of it; and He is going to take it to glory to be with Himself soon, and then bring it back and display it in all the brightness and splendor of His own glory with which He will adorn it, when it will shine forth as the Holy City, New Jerusalem, having the glory of God—the Bride, the Lamb’s wife. It is an immense thing, for our souls to get hold of that, and to find ourselves in the power of it. Especially is it needful for those who are young in the ways of the Lord. It is a great thing for us all to see that the affections of the Lord’s heart flow out at the present time to His Church and not to the world. WILLIAM EASTON
