Reading today’s devotional really opened my eyes to see things from a different perspective. Before Christ was the leader of my life, I did live a life looking for something. Always searching for happiness and purpose. Once I gave my heart to the Lord, I had that. I had a life everlasting, and full of purpose. My place in Heaven was secured. The holy spirit became my constant companion going with me through each day leading me, toward God’s path, directing my moves from the standpoint of a promised place with my Lord, for all Eternity. I am so truly blessed by this gift and of course I want to share it with those I love. I want to even share with those I am not particularly fond of. I can’t stand the thought of anyone spending their life for all of eternity with no hope, just desolate suffering and burning. I except that everyone may not be ready to receive this gift but when their lives are alone and sad, I want them to know there is always someone there for them, who loves them, and will forgive you if you just ask him for it. Knowing what it feels like to walk my daily life on His path and with Him shining in my heart, I can’t imagine not having that constant companionship. My connection with God really makes my life more satisfying. I truly want to share with you the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, in hope you will find this secure happiness as well.
Thanks for sharing part of your weekend with me, I hope you will enjoy this amazing devotional from His Victorious Indwelling:
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. MATTHEW 6:21 In Christ Jesus we work no longer for life, but from life. Our high endeavor is not to shape our actual life in the flesh into conformity to an ideal life that is set before us in Him. It is rather to reduce our true life now hid in Christ to an actual life in ourself. And so the summons of the Gospel is not that we behold what is impossible for us in Christ, and reach forth to it; but rather that we behold what is accomplished for us in Christ, and appropriate it and live in it. Risen with Christ, the first fruits of our spirits already carried up with Him into glory, our life hid with Him in God, how shall not our heart be where our treasure is! How shall not our love be ever kindling and burning upwards, purging itself of all earthly dress, till it is wholly intent on Him? Why hang the damps and corruptions of the grave about us still, earthliness and sinful affections, and all these clinging: accompaniments of moral death, from which our Lord has ransomed us! It is ours even now to walk with Him in white, and to be ever “breathing with Him the freshness of the morning of the resurrection and of endless life.” A. J. GORDON
